Mike Bloom has been president and COO of Family Dollar Stores Inc. since September 2011. Bloom spent 20 years with CVS Caremark Corp. where he started in store operations and progressed through a number of positions with increasingly responsibility. He served as EVP of merchandising and supply chain at CVS until 2009. While at CVS he was responsible for the company's front-end merchandising and category management. He also oversaw the chain's distribution and inventory operations. Prior to this position, he served as a SVP of merchandising at CVS until 2003. Before joining CVS, Bloom spent 10 years as a manager/executive with the Virginia-based People's Drug Stores and the Florida division of Toronto-based Shopper's Drug Mart.
